CERC Isalnita

CERC Isalnita (Centrul de Resurse al Comunității/Community Resource Center) began in September 2011 as a response to a need for a community platform. Our main goal is to build capacity for sustainable development in Isalnita through dialogue, cooperation and creating good relationships between all members of the community.

CERC has created a space for cultural, environmental, social, and fiscal advancement. By engaging with one another at a grassroots level, citizens have collaborated to make their own development a reality.

Activities you can get involved in during your exchange:

  • Cinema Club - showcases a variety of movies on a weekly basis in our state-of-the-art projection Room. A student initiative, this club is organized and run soley by the student body.
  • CERC Club - a mixed bag! This club offers a wide range of activities, including painting, drawing, drama, media, school newspaper. The media class has proved most popular, where the students learn to make make videos, take professional photos, and design posters.
  • Dance Clubs - Two dance clubs are active in the community: Traditional Dance, and Modern Dance. You can choose one, or try your hand at both.
  • Swimming Club - Twice a month, the members get down to the pool for lessons and a splash around.
  • Longboarding - Similar to skateboarding, this sport is extremely popular in the community. Get involved to stay fit, improve your balance, and be in with a chance to become Isalnita's newest, most skilled longboarder.

Health and Safety

This workshop, delivered by a local health professional, is designed to equip young people with the knowledge they need to be safe and healthy. The pupils have benefited enormously from this opportunity and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
